Rhubarb pie and cake recipes.

I never knew there were so many rhubarb pie, cake and jelly recipes.  I do remember my mother
had a patch of rhubarb growing on the farm.  She planted her rhubarb right beside the
strawberry patch.  You would have thought the rhubarb was more precious then her roses.  I
never understood why.  Now I do.  Rhubarb is a treat to use.  I love it.

All of the collected recipes I add here are taken from handwritten recipe boxes or journals.

I am, single-handedly, trying to salvage old recipes from being lost to us forever.  You gotta love
a collector. (You believe all that?)

Seriously,
Our mother's and grandmother's spent a great part of their lives in the kitchen preparing food
for the family.  Those days and times are lost to us forever.  I don't want to loose their recipes
too.  It is their history, a part of who we were then.  A part of why we are what we are today.

Their recipes are our history.  If you like this page, try our
